The 2nd day of Romanian Banking Forum 2019 gathered an impressive list of speakers:

▶️ Cristian Popa - with decades of top economic & monetary policy, central and multilateral banking experience as former Vice-Chairman of European Investment Bank (EIB) and former Deputy Governor of National Bank of Romania - delivered the keynote speech "About Banking and the Economy, through the Lens of Monetary Policy", addressing both macro & micro perspectives, including the experience of other countries, instruments for financing innovation and development banking initiatives.

▶️ In the Interview of the Day with moise norel, Omer Tetik - the CEO of Banca Transilvania, a bank with proven “magnetism and self-sustained business growth”- warned that technology should not lead to bankers growing distant from customers, thus giving kudos to the old-school banking mindset in an increasingly digitised banking world.
▶️ The day ended with the #CorporateBanking panel of leading bankers and ecosystem connoisseurs:
• Dragos Popa, Citi
• Bogdan Nicolae Oprea, CEC
• Alina Radu, NNDKP
• Radu Ropota, ING
• Sorin Mititelu, Optimus Fintech

I H C Managing Partner Ciprian E. Păltineanu was honored to put back on the hat of a corporate & investment banker and moderate insightful discussions -among the distinguished panelists and with the audience- on (almost) everything, from syndications to capital-light products, from digitisation and augmented bankers to operational excellence and from the focus of banks’ on corporate venturing to ESG and GreenAssets-as-a-Service.
